WWII U.S. M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-Late War)
This is an original WWII U.S. M1 helmet liner headband. Its manufacturer's marking has faded, however we can just make out that it was produced by L. & N. Specialties. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle, a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The headband's leather is in good condition, however it has stiffened somewhat with age. This would be an ideal headband for a high-pressure helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A-washers.
