Original Early-WW2 U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner Set (1942) For Sale

Early-WWII U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner Set (1942)

This original early-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set is in good, combat-used condition. The McCord manufactured front seam helmet shell's heat stamp is somewhat concealed beneath an original field repaint; however it has the later style fixed loops, which date from June 1942. In addition to its field repaint, it retains original markings, cork texture, and brass-buckled OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps. The chinstraps exhibit an original field repair, utilizing steel rivets. The chinstraps are also marked with the original owner's laundry number, "N-6445". The helmet has recently been paired with an original Westinghouse manufactured liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers and folded ends on the neck support. These early features date the liner's production to mid-1942. The khaki suspension is fraying near the drawstring (we do not recommend putting any weight on the suspension). It comes complete with an original double-wire headband, neckband, and green-buckled leather liner strap. The liner's original olive drab factory finish is in good condition.
