Original WW2 U.S. M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-Late War) For Sale

WWII U.S. M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-Late War)

This is an original WWII U.S. M1 helmet liner headband. Its ink stamping is unusual in that it lacks a manufacturer's name, however its format appears most similar to those produced by the rare producer, Harold Allen. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle - a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The leather remains quite soft and supple; it is marked with the surname of its original owner, "Hinkle." This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A-washers.
