WWII U.S. Duffel Bag (ID'D)

WWII U.S. Duffel Bag (ID'D)

This original WWII U.S. "overseas" duffel bag is identified to the same man who owned this service cap, Albert Scolli. Judging by the marking on his cap, we believe his laundry number was S-6199. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate him in the National Archives' Enlistment Records. Tied to the duffel bag are two separate tags addressed to the veteran's mother, "Mrs. Verne Scolli, Route 1 Hinsdale". Perhaps researching this information may prove fruitful. Its manufacturer's marking has faded beyond legibility, however we can still see its faint 1944 production date stamp. The OD#7 (green) material is in good condition. These bags display really well when filled and placed in the corner of a collection room.
