This is an original and well-used WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The front of the helmet showcases original hand-painted captain's bars. The heat stamp is unfortunately hidden beneath the black-painted interior, however judging by the later style fixed loops, this helmet was likely produced sometime between mid-1942 and late-1943. Whether the new owner decides to match the helmet with a well-used liner or restore it with the proper chinstrap, this helmet will make an excellent display piece.
