WWII U.S. Camouflage Painted Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (PTO Set)
This is an original U.S. M1 helmet set, with a distinctively "Pacific Theater of Operations" brown-green camouflage paint scheme. The wartime painted markings have been authenticated with the assistance of advanced digital microscopy. The paint's micro cracking, which most forgers have yet to correctly replicate, is readily apparent under magnification. The McCord manufactured fixed loop helmet shell's heat stamp of 203B dates the helmet's production to June 1942. It retains its original cork texture and OD#3 (khaki) chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits the early cast-brass buckle, carried over from the M1917A1 helmet (a common variation seen on helmets around the 200-range). The helmet comes complete with its original Westinghouse manufactured liner. The liner features blackened brass A-washers, dating its production from mid-1944 to 1945. The liner's khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original neckband and a recently-installed headband and rusty green-buckled leather liner strap.
