Original WW2 U.S. Army Air Corps/Force Wool Overcoat (ID'd) For Sale

WWII U.S. Army Air Corps/Force Wool Overcoat (ID'd)

This original WWII U.S. overcoat is identified to William K. Weaver, serial number 35433481. View the Veteran's Information Section for more details regarding Weaver's life and military service. Unfortunately, its manufacturer's label has faded beyond legibility, however we can still see its ink size stamping of 36S. It is in very good conditition, with all of its original brass buttons intact. It retains an original Army Air Corps/Force shoulder sleeve insignia, and the two hash marks on the sleeve indicate its original owner served one year overseas.

He enlisted in the United States Army on June 20, 1942 in Huntington, West Virginia. Made available to the new owner, below, are Weaver's enlistment records from the National Archives. Normally, we would have also requested Weaver's complete file through a FOIA request, however there is a significant backlog at the time of writing - there is still plenty of research for the new owner to do!
