WWII Matching Set of Three U.S. Identification "Dog" Tags With Beaded Chain

This an original WWII matching set of three U.S. identification "dog" tags. They are ID'd to Howard B. McLelland Jr., serial number 13140508. View the Veteran's Information Section for more details regarding McLelland's life and military service, however just by deciphering his dog tags, we can see he was a Protestant, with O type blood. These tags are the fourth and final wartime version, exhibiting just two lines of text, reversed name order, and a beaded chain.

    Howard Brown "Buddy" McLelland Jr. was born on June 16, 1926 in Statesville, North Carolina. He moved to Washington, D.C., and enlisted in the United States' Army Air Corps on August 2, 1944 at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland. At 81 years of age, McLelland died on April 6, 2008. Made available to the new owner, below, are McLelland's enlistment records as well as a link to his obituary.
