WWII M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Late-War)

WWII M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Late-War)

This original WWII helmet liner headband was manufactured by the Springfield Leather Prod. Co. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle - a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The leather remains quite soft and supple; it is painted with the name "Uebel." With a production date of 1945, this would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
