Original WW2 Lieutenant's M1-C Airborne Paratrooper Helmet Shell (November 1944) For Sale

WWII Lieutenant's M1-C Airborne Paratrooper Helmet Shell (November 1944)

This is an original WWII McCord manufactured M1-C paratrooper helmet shell. It is identified to Lieutenant Ray W. King, serial number O-1540868. Unfortunately, the records of officers are not made public, however additional information can likely be obtained by hiring Golden Arrow Research. The helmet's heat stamp is partially concealed by the reverse of the welded Lt.'s rank, but considering what is visible, in combination with the manganese steel rim meeting at the rear, we can discern this helmet was likely produced in November 1944. The helmet retains its original field repaint, cork texture, and OD#7 para straps. This M1-C helmet shell would pair quite nicely with a Westinghouse paratrooper liner.
