This original WWII German manufactured M42 helmet set has all the characteristics of a Killed in Action bring-back souvenir. With a jagged shrapnel hole and a blood-stained liner, one can only imagine what this helmet has witnessed. Its original factory textured feldgrau paint finish is in great condition. The helmet's size and factory stamping is undetectable - a common flaw among late-war ET and ckl manufactured helmets. The helmet's circumference was measured and came out to be approximately 66 centimeters. The leather liner, however is a size 57, which would normally be installed in a size 64 helmet shell. This type of mismatch was also common among late-war helmets. The rear brim is stamped with the lot number of 17_6. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
