WWII Fixed Loop Schlueter Medic's M1 Helmet Shell (Mid-1943)
This is an original mid-WWII U.S. Schlueter manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 107A dates the helmet's production to mid-1943. It exhibits a wartime-applied medic's cross, uniquely constructed with medical tape. Beneath the tape lies matching painted markings. In addition to the helmet's original medic markings, it retains an original wartime field repaint, cork texture, and single khaki chinstrap. The missing chinstrap was likely lost when its corresponding loop snapped. The interior is inscribed three times with the original owner's name, 'Mesi', and a headquarters stencil. There is an indentation at the top of the helmet and stress cracks throughout. This helmet would be an ideal match for a liner with green painted steel A-washers.
