WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Lieutenant's Ike Jacket
This is an original WWII Army Air Corps Lieutenant's jacket. This jacket began its life as a standard four-pocket service jacket before a tailor modified it to appear as an Ike jacket. It and all of its components are authentic and untouched. The collar devices are backed by wartime, flat-surfaced clutches - one of which is made of silver. The American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal ribbon bar is a pinback. Just above it are remnants of where its silver wings were once pinned and there is also evidence of an Army Air Corps patch on the wearer's left sleeve, however those are unfortunately missing. Inside one of the pockets, we found an original document and matchbook, which are included. This jacket has definitely seen use, with consistent wear and mothing throughout. Its measurements are as follows: overall length 19", chest 36", armpit to armpit 18", waist 31", and sleeve length 24.5" (from shoulder to hem).
