Mid-WWII U.S. Second Lieutenant's Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner
This original mid-WWII Westinghouse manufactured M1 helmet liner is named to a Second Lieutenant Russell. In addition to the hand-painted markings, the liner retains its original olive drab factory finish. The green-painted steel A-washers and folded ends on the neck support dates the liner's production to mid-1943. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband and tattered neckband. Marked on both the suspension and etched into the liner's surface, are remnants of an ID to a second serviceman, an apparent "M. Sparks". This liner is a must-have for the collector with an unaccompanied Second Lt.'s helmet shell.
