Mid-WWII Lieutenant Colonel's Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner

Mid-WWII Lieutenant Colonel's Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner

This is an original mid-WWII Lieutenant Colonel's Westinghouse manufactured M1 helmet liner. The original hand-painted officer's rank is quite intricate. The green-painted steel A-washers date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband and neckband. The headband's leather has dried and deteriorated with age. Hidden beneath the headband is a faint laundry number, which reads "M-5064." This liner is a must-have for the collector with an unaccompanied Lt. Col.'s helmet shell.
