This is an original U.S. WWII Capac manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features green painted steel A-washers, which date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband, green-buckled leather liner strap, and a recently installed neckband. The liner's original factory olive drab paint finish is well-worn and the front brim exhibits some delamination - a common occurence on Capac manufactured helmet liners. This would be an ideal liner for a mid-war fixed loop helmet shell.
