This is an original wooden ammunition crate for the M1 Carbine. It originally held 1,200 cartridges in bandoleers. The "TACAL" inscription on the front of the crate denotes production from 1948 to 1958. It comes complete with its original lid, which is secured by four wingnuts. Its dimensions are 14.5" x 10.5" x 9".
