Early-WWII USMC Camouflage Mosquito Net Helmet Cover (Type A)
This is an original WWII USMC camouflage mosquito net helmet cover. Two main varieties of these helmet covers were produced during the war: those with an interupted khaki foliage band (type A) and those with a continuous green foliage band (type B). This variety, the type A, was first seen atop the heads of Marines fighting on Tarawa in November of 1943. This example is in heavily used condition, with damage throughout. Care should be expressed because the mesh material has been known to tear if not handled delicately. Camouflage mosquito nets are a unique and more affordable alternative to standard helmet covers. Helmet not included.
