This is an original matching set of web chinstraps for the WWII U.S. M1 helmet. They are constructed of OD#3 (khaki) webbing and brass hardware, with the "raised bar" buckle. These were recovered from a McCord manufactured fixed loop helmet shell, however they would also be appropriate for comparable Schlueter examples. The webbing exhibits some battleship grey-blue paint residue, as well as the initials of their original owner, "C.W.B". The longer strap is torn and showcases a field repair, however it could likely be shortened without affecting its functionality or appearance.
