This is an original early-WWII U.S. rayon neckband. These were manufactured in three different sizes during the war: 3, 4, and 5. This example's markings have since faded, however we've compared it to a confirmed size 4 and it is quite similar. It features nickel-plated brass United Carr snaps. This would be an ideal neckband for all helmet liners with rayon suspensions - including Hawleys.
