Early-WWII U.S. Hawley Sun Helmet (Complete)
This is an original early-WWII U.S. pith tropical sun helmet. It still retains its original lining and leather chinstrap, dating its production from October 1940 to May 1941 (after this date, the chinstrap material was changed from leather to web). Its manufacturer's ink stamping is unfortunately illegible, however it was likely produced by Hawley, as by the time International Hat Co. began producing sun helmets the web chinstrap was already introduced. This helmet is in exceptional condition. It would be a great addition to a USMC display.
