Early-WWII German 6x30 Dienstglas C. P. Goerz Binoculars With Lens Cover & Strap
This is an original pair of early-WWII German 6x30 dienstglas binoculars. These were produced by C. P. Goerz in Berlin, Germany. Their serial number of 429487, brass construction, and lack of a factory code all indicate early-war production. These binoculars are in good, used condition, with slightly foggy optics. They retain their original lens cover, carrying strap, and knopflasche, which the wearer could use to fasten the binoculars to a tunic button. The knopflasche actually dates to WWI, as evident by the "L.Z.A." marking, denoting the "Leder-Zuweisungs-Amt". This was a leather allocation office which operated from 1917 to 1919 in order to combat leather shortages during WWI.
