This is an original WWII Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers and a first pattern rayon suspension, which dates the liner to mid-1942. The suspension is marked with a 'P', signifying production by the Paul K. Weil Co. The liner exhibits a unique factory error; one of the A-washers is reversed. The rayon suspension is fraying in a few areas, but is still strong and intact. The liner has recently been paint stripped and outfitted with original rayon accessories. The Johnson & Johnson manufactured headband is size 7 1/8 and the neckband is size 3.
