WWII USN D-Day Inflatable Life Preserver Belt
This is an original WWII USN inflatable life preserver belt, as worn by Allied servicemen during D-Day and other amphibious invasions. This particular example was manufactured by Durkee-Atwood Co. on October 6, 1944. The canvas is in quite good shape and the rubber hoses remain soft and pliable. This would make for an excellent addition to a D-Day display.
