This is an original United States Marine Corps M1 helmet set. The original camouflage cover is often referred to as a first pattern variation, without foliage slits; however, it is actually the third pattern created, often seen during the fighting on Iwo Jima. There are no EGA stamps on either side of the camouflage cover. The McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell's heat stamp of 121A dates its production to April 1942. The helmet retains its original USMC forest green field repaint, cork texture, and khaki chinstraps. The straps exhibit early brass hardware. The Seaman Paper Co. manufactured helmet liner features green painted steel A-washers, dating its production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The liner comes complete with an original Joseph N. Eisendrath Co. manufactured headband, khaki neckband, and green buckled United Carr stamped leather liner strap.
