This is an original WWII U.S. Navy uniform, consisting of a jumper, pants, and very desirable watch cap. All components are authentic and untouched. This set is ID'd to a sailor from New York, Walter Anthony Kogut, service number 609 78 04. He enlisted on April 7, 1944, rose to the rank of Coxswain, and served aboard the USS Audubon from December 20, 1944 until the end of the war. The USS Audubon was a Pacific Theater of Operations attack transport ship, tasked with moving troops to and from combat areas, such as Okinawa, Saipan, Eniwetok, and Guadalcanal. In addition to the uniform, the purchaser will receive 20 pages detailing Mr. Kogut's service, including a photo of the veteran, obituary, as well as ship muster rolls and report of changes.
