WWII U.S. M1936 Pistol Belt, Canteen, & Carlisle Bandage Pouch (ID'd)

This in an original WWII U.S. pistol belt, outfitted with a canteen and carlisle bandage pouch. These items belonged to First Sergeant Ferdinand F. Framstad, serial number 06568908. View the Veteran's Information Section for more details regarding Sgt. Framstad's life and military service. The belt was manufactured by Russell Mills Co. in 1943 and bares the original owner's laundry number, "F-8908." The 1942-dated carlisle bandage pouch was produced by Bearse Manufacturing Co. The canteen cover's manufacturer's markings have since faded beyond legibility, however the canteen itself was manufactured in 1944 by Southwestern Metals Co.

  • Veteran's Information

    Ferdinand F. Framstad was born on October 2, 1907 in Cavalier County, North Dakota. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 16, 1945 at Camp McCoy in Sparta, Wisconsin. He eventually attained the rank of First Sergeant. Tragically, at just 38 years of age, Framstad died in his barracks bunk on January 28, 1946, resulting from a brain haemorrhage incurred when he slipped and fell on an icy sidewalk. He is laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Made available to the new owner, below, are Framstad's enlistment records as well as a link to his gravesite.
