This is an original WWII leather liner strap. The leather is still quite pliable, however it has dried somewhat with age. The green painted steel buckle is the early variety with the flat lip, dating the strap's production from late-1942 to mid-1943. It features green-painted steel United Carr rivets. This would be an ideal strap for a helmet liner with non-painted steel A-washers (including Hawleys and low-pressures).
