Late-WWII U.S. Leather Liner Strap With Black Brass Buckle
This is an original late-WWII leather liner strap. The leather has conformed to the shape of a helmet's brim, but remains soft and pliable. It features a blackened brass buckle as well as United Carr rivets. The leather, near the buckle's rivet, is embossed with a "K" logo, believed to denote production by Enger-Kress Company. The reverse of the buckle exhibits the patent number of 2363872, dating the strap's production to November 28, 1944. This would be an ideal strap for a high-pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
