WWII U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet & Transitional Inland Liner Set (1942)
This original early-WWII M1 helmet set is in excellent condition. The initials of its original owner, "B.A.M.", are marked on both components - showcasing their long history together as a set. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell has a heat stamp of 254C, which dates its production to August 1942. The helmet retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and brass-buckled OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps. The Inland manufactured liner's original olive drab factory paint finish is in near mint condition. It features parkerized steel A-washers, a transitional khaki suspension, and folded ends on the neck support. These early features date the liner's production from mid-1942 to mid-1943. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original, headband, neckband, and tucked under the suspension, a flat-buckled leather liner strap with brown-painted United Carr rivets.
