WWII U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (May 1943)
This is an original mid-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The original owner hand-painted his initials, "P.A.B.", in its interior. The heat stamp of 549_ dates the helmet's production to May 1943. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap features a brass buckle in the "raised bar" variety. Its fixed loops are strong and intact. This helmet would be an ideal match for a liner with green painted steel A-washers.
