This is an original WWII U.S. camouflage painted M1 helmet set. The front seam swivel loop McCord manufactured helmet's heat stamp is 823B, dating the helmet's production to March 1944. The helmet's exterior exhibits an original P.T.O. style, green-black camouflage paint scheme. The veteran incorporated small white pebbles within the camouflage paint in order to achieve additional texture. The helmet's interior is marked with the laundry number 'R-3748' as well as the initials 'A.R'. The original owner's fingerprint was even pressed into the painted markings. The Seaman Paper Co. manufactured helmet liner features green painted steel A-washers, dating the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. It comes complete with its original headband and neckband. The liner's exterior retains a cross, matching the paint in the steel shell's interior, showcasing the helmet and liner's long history together as a set.
