WWII U.S. Army Air Corps/Force Wool Overcoat (ID'd)
This original WWII U.S. overcoat is identified to William P. McMahon, serial number 12171586. View the Veteran's Information Section for more details regarding McMahon's life and military service. This overcoat was manufactured by Dann Clothing Co. on August 28, 1941, and is a size 36S. It is in very good conditition, with all of its original brass buttons intact, however there is some mothing. It retains an original Army Air Corps/Force shoulder sleeve insignia, however this may have been applied after McMahon's use of the coat, as his records show he enlisted in the Army rather than the Air Corps.

Warren County, New York resident, William P. McMahon, serial number 12171586, was born in Vermont in 1922. He enlisted in the United States Army on October 27, 1942 in Albany, New York. Made available to the new owner, below, are McMahon's enlistment records from the National Archives. Normally, we would have also requested McMahon's complete file through a FOIA request, however there is a significant backlog at the time of writing - there is still plenty of research for the new owner to do!
