WWII "The Stars and Stripes" Newspaper From "V-E Day" (May 8, 1945)
This is an original wartime newspaper from The Stars and Stripes, which was the daily newspaper of the U.S. armed forces fighting in the ETO. This version would have been made available to those allied servicemen in Paris, France. It is the May 8, 1945 "V-E Day" edition, detailing the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany to the Western Allies. Interestingly, there is a section on how the Germans in Prague, Czechoslovakia refused to allow the surrender to apply to them and continued to fight the Soviets. It is in good condition, with small tears, handwriting, worn edges, and consists of just a couple of pages - making it an ideal candidate for framing!
