This is an original WWII St. Clair manufactured low pressure helmet liner. It features non-painted steel rectangular washers, remnants of a stationary leather liner strap, and a first pattern rayon suspension, dating the liner's production to mid-1942. The rayon suspension is frayed at the neck support's center washer, but is still strong and intact throughout. The liner has recently been outfitted with an original size 7 1/8 Johnson & Johnson manufactured headband and rayon neckband. The liner's exterior retains its original early war flat olive drab factory paint.
