WWII Navy Painted Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (August 1942)

This is an original early-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 249C dates the helmet's production to August 1942. It retains its original battleship grey-blue paint, cork texture, and slightly damaged chinstraps. There are stress cracks throughout, however the helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. Whether the new owner decides to complete the helmet with a well used early-war liner or restore it with an intact chinstrap, this helmet will make an excellent display piece.
