This is an original U.S. WWII matching M1 helmet set. The McCord fixed loop helmet's incredibly early heat stamp of 29A 2 dates its manufacture to July 1941, the first month of the M1 helmet's production. The helmet shell retains its original smooth painted exterior and khaki chinstraps. The straps exhibit an early cast brass buckle, carried-over from the M1917-A1 helmet. Both the steel helmet and Westinghouse liner's interiors are ID'd to Bernardo Reyes, serial #20026856, showcasing their long history together as a set. The helmet liner features green painted steel A-washers, dating its production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The liner comes complete with its original headband and neckband.
