WWII M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-Late War)
This is a well-used, original WWII M1 helmet liner headband. The manufacturer's marking has unfortunately faded beyond legibility. The leather has darkened and dried somewhat with age. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle, a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. This would be an ideal headband for a high-pressure helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A-washers.
