This original WWII helmet liner headband's markings are quite faded, however enough is visible to discern that it was manufactured by the Paul K. Weil Co. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle, a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The leather has darkened with use, but remains soft and supple. This would be an ideal headband for a high-pressure helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A-washers.
