This is an original WWII produced Scholl Manufacturing Co. helmet liner headband. The leather has darkened from use, but remains quite soft and pliable. The hardware is green painted steel, dating the headband's production from mid-1942 to late-1943. This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with either non-painted or green painted steel A-washers.
