This is an original WWII McCord manufactured M1-C paratrooper helmet. It is a transitional example, with a stainless steel rim meeting at the rear. The heat stamp of 1164J dates the helmet's production to November 1944. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and OD#7 para straps. The straps have frayed near the loops, but remain intact. The helmet's interior is ID'd to Antonio Malave, serial #51074584, in addition to two different laundry numbers: G-2087 and B-9549. This M1-C helmet shell would pair quite nicely with a Westinghouse paratrooper liner.
