This is an original WWII leather liner strap. The leather is still quite pliable, however there are areas in which the leather is cracking on the strap's surface. The green painted steel buckle is the early variety with the flat lip, dating the strap's production from late-1942 to mid-1943. It features United Carr green painted steel rivets. This would be an ideal strap for a helmet liner with non-painted steel A-washers (including Hawleys and St. Clairs).
