This is an original WWII leather liner strap. The leather has conformed to the shape of a helmet's brim, but remains soft and supple. It features a blackened brass buckle as well as United Carr branded blackened brass rivets. The reverse of the buckle exhibits the patent number of 2363872, dating the strap's production to November 28, 1944. This would be an ideal strap for a high-pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
