This is an original early-WWII Inland manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers, a transitional khaki suspension, and folded ends on the neck support. These early features date the liner's production from mid-1942 to mid-1943. The Johnson & Johnson manufactured suspension is strong and intact. It has recently been outfitted with an original Comfort Slipper Corporation manufactured neckband and an original Johnson & Johnson manufactured size 7 1/4 rayon headband. The exterior's original olive drab factory paint finish is in good condition, with some worn areas throughout.
