This is an original early-WWII Inland manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers, a transitional khaki suspension, and folded ends on the neck support. These early features date the liner's production from mid-1942 to mid-1943. The suspension is strong and intact, however the liner is cracked beneath the front center rivet. The crack does not affect the liner's ability to fit inside a helmet shell. It comes complete with its original Johnson & Johnson manufactured khaki neckband and a recently installed size 7 1/4 rayon headband. The exterior's original factory finish is still visible beneath a possible camouflage paint scheme.
