This original early-WWII manufactured M1 helmet liner headband is quite rare in that the padding is not leather, but rather brown vinyl. These headbands are almost exclusively found in Hood Rubber manufactured low pressure liners. Due to the vinyl's inabilty to absorb sweat, production was quickly ceased. In regards to rarity, we have owned hundreds, if not thousands, of the leather varieties and only three of this type. These are not believed to have ever been stamped with manufacturers' markings. This headband is a must-have for your lacking Hood Rubber liner.
