WWII Hawley M1 Helmet Liner With Complete Accessories (Khaki Suspension)
This is an original early-WWII Hawley manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers, folded ends on the neck support, and studs for a removable leather liner strap; these characteristics date the liner's production to mid-1942. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original double-wire headband, khaki neckband, and a recently installed flat-lipped leather liner strap, with Hagerstown produced leather. Both the liner and neckband showcase the laundry number "W-8925". This liner would display quite nicely when installed in a mid-1942 fixed loop helmet shell.
