This is an original WWII German manufactured M42 helmet. The inside brim is size stamped CKL66, lot number 4607, denoting late-1943 production by the Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale factory. This helmet showcases its original slate grey textured finish and would have left the factory after the cessation of decal application. The interior retains its original leather liner and drawstring, however its chinstrap is missing. A search of Brian Ice's research on German helmet lot numbers shows that it would have likely been outfitted with one manufactured in 1943 by G. Schiele, Loburg. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
