This original WWII German no-decal Luftwaffe M40 helmet has a great combat-used appearance. On August 28th, 1943 an order from German high command was issued, prohibiting the factory application of helmet decals. Shortly after, the Luftwaffe's distinctive blue paint finish was also halted, leaving a small batch of helmets with no decals, but still exhibiting Luftwaffe-blue factory paint - this being one of those rare examples. The inside brim is size stamped Q66, with the lot number DN515, denoting early to mid-1944 production by the Quist, Esslingen factory. The helmet showcases an original textured field repaint, with its factory finish emerging in some spots. The helmet's interior retains its original 1943 dated size 58 leather liner and chinstrap; both pieces have dried and deteriorated over time. The helmet's split pins are all original and intact. The liner is missing its drawstring and the helmet features light surface rust throughout.
