WWII German M39 Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet Set
This is an original WWII German 1939 manufactured Luftschutz three-piece gladiator helmet. The RL2-39/2 stamping on the interior brim denotes production by the Bath & Wagara, Dresden factory. Interestingly, members of the Luftschutz were required to purchase their own helmets upon joining the organization and "Höchstpreis Rm 8-" means members were not to be charged more than 8 Reichsmarks per helmet. The helmet's outer circumference measures approximately 66 cm, making this a larger example. It retains its original factory blue paint and decal. The steel shell exhibits dents, with minor surface rust throughout. The interior's original leather components show wear and deterioration. The cork liner spacers are square, denoting war-time installation. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
